Welcome to Oak Tree Notebook!

OTN began with a desire to connect several sources of inspiration through writing: nature, spirituality, and parenthood. Each of these take on different flavors, but can include transformative experiences in very similar ways.

On this site, you will find creative and nonfiction writing, plus guest posts from people who inspire me.

I come at this from the perspective of a wife, mother of two young children, and yoga/meditation instructor. Professionally, I hold a PhD in American Studies and teach at the college level, which gives me unique insights into the way culture “works” – often something that creeps into my personal writing.
